Year of the Pirate!

Or Pirate of the Year?
We had an amazing birthday weekend with Noah, complete with a special visit from GrAnna and Grandpa Darrel! We had a pirate party, pinata, a day of playing, first group swim lesson, lots of bike riding, cake, ice cream, movies and snuggles!

4 Years Old!

Ohmygoodness!! Where has the time gone? I can't believe Noah has only been part of our lives for 4 years, I can't imagine life without him and hardly remember B.N.. Each stage is more amazing than the last, I can't believe the next could be any better but know it will be. We're so blessed to have such an amazing boy in our life, we can't wait for what the future holds for him but want it to slow it's approach.

Some updates:
Noah is 75% for height 25% weight. Knowing him as a baby I would never have thought he would be tall and lean. Perhaps it's because...
Noah does not have a serious side or understand - inside voice, tip-toe, sit still or no touching. We have some of the most exciting and energetic days.
Noah is very creative and colorful.
Noah is kind hearted and honest.

Girls Trip

I know you were hoping for birthday boy pictures.
First things first.

Our ladies SF trip was mostly about food and drink!

Anyone know what sweetbreads are?

I do  know!

We're doing it again! Real Simple Dinners

Almost 4 years ago exactly we were waiting for the arrival of our sweet son Noah. Thankfully this is the time of year Real Simple Mag. comes out with their Month of Simple Weeknight Dinners.
It helps pass the time, and it's the time of year I want to cook and be home.
We did it four years ago here and are doing it again!

Night One:

Crunchy Dinner Salad With Prosciutto, Apple, and Hazelnuts

Ours

 There's

Rating: 8 (surprising delicious) if you know me, you know I don't like fruit in anything unless it's dessert. The ingredient meshing in this dish was exceptional! Will make again.

Night Two:

Barbecue Chicken Sandwich With Sautéed Corn, Edamame, and Pickles

There's

Ours

Rating: 4 This sandwich is nothing noteworthy. Easy enough to make again and feel satisfied. The relish/succotash could have been omitted. Who eats Sweet pickles? Anyone? DH thought he did until I had him take a bite of one. The little green gherkin came out faster than one can imagine.

Will not make again.

We're 50/50...could be worse. We'll see what tonight's recipe holds. Happy chowing.

Family Dinner Old School Style

Fried Buck steak & hair cuts

This is one of the cutest things ever!
Gravy makers!

When asked individually - this is how it went:
Me: Noah what's on your face?
Noah: Chocolate (as he takes off running as if it's  not big deal)
Me: Mason what's on your face?
Mason:....(no comment just a shoulder shrug)

Me: Walker what are you eating
Walker: No-thin-g (with a mouth full of M & M's)
 Funny boys!
